Seymone Angela Marie Baumgartner

On August 29th, 2012. I welcomed my second niece into this world.
On that day, I was working in Cedar City and was coming past Duck Creek when I got a call from a number I did not recognize. I didn't answer, not only because I did not have hardly any service, but because I was not sure who it was. I got about half way between Tod's Junction and Duck Creek and I got the voicemail. It was from my mom, she said. Tessla is at the hospital. Her water broke and we are waiting to see the doctor.
I panicked!!! I was over 4 hours away at that exact moment and was afraid I wouldn't make it there in time. I stopped at Tod's Junction and tried to call the number back. I got my mom on the phone and she said that Tessla had just seen the doctor and that she was at a 6 and fully effaced. I knew at that exact moment I was not going to make it in time. I still had hope that because this was her first baby that I might just make it.
After the adrenaline calmed down, I was coming up over the sand dunes and text Devlin and told him to get a bag of clothes ready for me, because as soon as I got into town I was going to leave.
I got home about 7:30pm, (after working from 6a.m. to 5p.m.). Grabbed the bag of clothes, kissed the kids and Devlin. And ran out the door. Grabbed some gas and dinner in Kanab and headed to Flagstaff as fast as I could.
Praying the entire time that Seymone would not maker her appearance until I got there.
As I was coming into Page, I got a call from my mom saying that she was fully dilated and was going to start pushing in like a half hour. I jokingly said to Mom to tell Tessla to hold that baby in till I got there.
I didn't find out till later that Tessla in fact had waited 2 extra hours before she would let the doctor break her water, in the hopes that I would be there in time. I was 40 miles away from Flagstaff and 35 minutes away when Seymone Angela Marie Baumgartner made her way into this world.
@ 9:27p.m. on August 29th, Seymone was born.
17 inches long and 4 pounds 15 ounces.
Mom called me as I was driving into downtown Flagstaff as I was looking for the hospital. I was taken aback and really quite upset that I missed it! If only I had not been in Cedar City, I would have made it.

I get there and got some video as I walked into her birthing room. Got to see my precious little niece for the first time. I got teary eyed as I looked at her and the Tessla let me hold her. I will never forget that moment! An amazing little person was in my arms, and such joy and love came over me. Not only for this beautiful little girl, but for the amazing women Tessla has become!
I wanted to make sure Tessla got settled! So I stayed at the hospital until I knew she was comfortable and going to be ok if I left.
I sat in Tessla's roo, waiting. Trying not to fall asleep standing or sitting up. Its not very often that I drive for 8 hours and then work 8 hours in one day. At 2a.m. the next morning, I went ahead and drove to Tessla's house to get some rest.
Did not get much sleep, woke up at 7 in the morning and went out into the living room. Mom said she hadn't slept good and she was going to go lay on the bed. I waited and waited. Thinking, OK MOM, lets go! I wanna go see baby and Tessla. Finally about 11a.m. I decided to just go ahead and go see Tessla alone. Mom was still sleeping.
Tessla was exhausted, she had not gotten much sleep either. I got to hold Seymone a lot and spend a few minutes of alone time with her. Precious baby, so good natured and content. No breathing problems, no problems with her being little. NOTHING! She is absolutely perfect in every way.
I stayed a few hours, just talking to Tessla and enjoying her time.
When I left. I was so upset. I had planned and wanted to stay a few days with Tessla to make sure she was ok and adjusting ok with baby. This was a Thursday, and i needed to work on Friday. So I reluctantly left Flagstaff. Cried half the way home because I did not want to leave.

But enough with the story. I would like to post some pictures and some videos I took of that beautiful day.
